Customer Locations (Multi-Site Accounts)
Add multiple physical sites for one customer and choose the right location when creating a job.
Some accounts are not a single address — for example a national brand like Dunkin' with dozens of stores, a property manager with many buildings, or a commercial client with several facilities. OpsBack lets you keep one customer record and attach as many named locations as you need, then pick the correct site when you create a job.
When to use locations
Use locations whenever the same customer can request service at more than one physical address. Keeping sites under one customer preserves shared contact info, history, tags, notes, and (for commercial shops) contract alignment — while each job still carries the exact address for dispatch, maps, and invoices.
Step 1 — Open the customer
Go to Customers in the sidebar, search for the account (by name, phone, email, or customer ID), and open the customer detail page. You will see a Locations section below the contact and stats cards.
Step 2 — Add a location
In Locations, click "Add location." Enter a clear label your team will recognize (for example "Airport Rd #214" or "Downtown store"). Fill in the street address using the address fields (you can search with Google Places autocomplete when available). Optionally check "Set as default location," then click Save.
Step 3 — Manage locations
Each location appears in the list with its label and address. The default location shows a Default badge — that address is also mirrored in the customer's main contact address for search and lists. Use the star icon to set another site as default, the pencil icon to edit, or the trash icon to delete. Deleting a location does not remove past jobs that used that address.
Step 4 — Create a job for a specific site
From the Locations list, click "New job at this location" on the site you need. Or click "New Job" in the header to use the default location. The create-job form opens with the customer locked in and that site's address selected.
Step 5 — Choose location while creating any job
You can also start from Jobs → New Job. Use "Find existing customer" to search by name, phone, email, or ID. Select the customer, then use the Service location dropdown to pick a saved site. Choose "Add new location…" if the job is at an address that is not saved yet — optionally enter a location label and the address, and OpsBack will save that site on the customer when you create the job.
Walk-in jobs without searching first
If you enter a new walk-in customer and address without picking an existing account, OpsBack still creates the customer and saves the address as a Primary location when possible. Matching phone or email to an existing customer reuses that record instead of creating a duplicate.
Default address vs. locations
Editing contact info on the customer still includes a "Default address" field. Changing it updates the default location. Prefer the Locations section when you need multiple sites, clear labels, or a one-click job for a specific store.
Commercial contracts and sites
If your shop uses Contracts & Service Plans, customer locations stay aligned with contract sites. Adding or updating a CRM location can create or update matching sites on that customer's active or draft agreements. Adding or editing a site on a contract likewise links back to a CRM location so the same physical place stays consistent in both places.
Tips for multi-store accounts
Use consistent labels (store number, street, or both). Set the most common site as default. Always confirm the Service location on the job form before saving so dispatch and the technician get the correct address. Past jobs keep the address they were created with even if you later rename or remove a location.
